Latest update 8th August 2008

Work has started on the scenery. Banking's along the front have been formed out of polystyrene and the rock faces along the rear have had the bulk made up from polystyrene and now the actual rock face detail can be started using plaster. An access road to the station and freight facilities runs down from a higher level and along behind the station building. Vehicles are in position to give an idea of how the access road and timber loading area will look when finished

The begininng

Work on Jochberg, my second Austrian Narrow gauge Layout, was started over the May bank holiday weekend 2008 (5.5.08) and has progressed steadily and is now at the stage where all baseboards are built, all track work is in place and with the exception of a couple of isolating sections on the shed road, the wiring is all done.

The magnets for the remote uncoupling are in place and the track work has been sprayed and weathered with the airbrush.

With the basic buildings temporally in place it's now time to give the layout a good test run. This will involve running the layout as if it was being exhibited with all the required stock on the layout and all the various movements tried. This will hopefully highlight any possible operating glitches and ensure all the stock is in good working order.

Well that's it for now, time to go work on the layout, more news soon and hopefully some photo's.
